വെള്ളിയാഴ്ച ഉച്ചയ്ക്ക് 1.30-ഓടെയാണ് സംഭവം ഉണ്ടായത്. മൂഴിയാർ ഓപ്പറേഷൻ സബ് ഡിവിഷനിലെ ഓഫീസിലേക്ക് ബൈക്കിൽ ജോലിക്ക് പോവുകയായിരുന്നു ഷിബു. വേലുത്തോടിന് സമീപം എത്തിയപ്പോൾ ആക്രമിക്കുകയായിരുന്നു. ആനയുടെ ആക്രമണത്തിൽ ബൈക്കിൽ നിന്ന് തെറിച്ചുവീണ ഷിബുവിന് സാരമായി പരിക്കേറ്റു. കാലിന് ഒടിവു സംഭവിച്ചിട്ടുണ്ട്. കൂടാതെ ശരീരമാസകലം പരിക്കുകളുമുണ്ട്.
