കാസർഗോഡ്: ഹൈവേ പട്രോളിങ്ങിനിടെ കാറിടിച്ച് ഗുരുതരമായി പരിക്കേറ്റ സിവിൽ പൊലീസ് ഓഫീസർ കെ.എം. സൂരജിന്റെ രണ്ടു കാലുകളും മുറിച്ചുമാറ്റി. അപകടത്തിൽ സാരമായി പരിക്കേറ്റ സൂരജിന്റെ ഇടതുകാൽ നേരത്തെ മുറിച്ചുമാറ്റിയിരുന്നു. തുടർന്ന് വലതുകാലും മുറിച്ചുമാറ്റേണ്ടി വരികയായിരുന്നു.(Kanhangad accident, Police officer loses both legs after being hit by car)
മംഗളൂരു തേജസ്വിനി ആശുപത്രിയിൽ ചികിത്സയിലാണ് സൂരജ്. സൂരജിനൊപ്പം അപകടത്തിൽ പെട്ട കുന്നുംകൈ സ്വദേശി അലോഷ്യസ് മാത്യുവിന്റെ ഒരു കാലും നേരത്തെ മുറിച്ചുമാറ്റിയിരുന്നു. നിലവിൽ ഇദ്ദേഹത്തെ ഐ.സി.യുവിൽ നിന്ന് മുറിയിലേക്ക് മാറ്റിയിട്ടുണ്ട്.
ജൂൺ 18-ന് ഐങ്ങോത്ത് വെച്ചാണ് അപകടം നടന്നത്. വാഹനപരിശോധനയ്ക്കിടെ റോഡരികിൽ നിർത്തിയിട്ടിരുന്ന പൊലീസ് ജീപ്പിന് പിന്നിൽ നിൽക്കുകയായിരുന്ന ഇരുവരെയും അമിതവേഗതയിലെത്തിയ കാർ ഇടിക്കുകയായിരുന്നു. പൊലീസുകാരുടെ ചികിത്സാച്ചെലവ് പൊലീസ് വെൽഫെയർ ഫണ്ടിൽ നിന്ന് ലഭ്യമാക്കാൻ ആഭ്യന്തരമന്ത്രി രമേശ് ചെന്നിത്തല നിർദ്ദേശം നൽകിയിരുന്നു.
Story Summary
